Radioscopie AfricTivistes – EPISODE 1 – 2025: an electoral year of hope and uncertainty
This year, over a dozen African countries are preparing to hold elections in a particularly tense climate, marked by deep political, democratic, and security crises. These elections are not merely a competition between candidates vying for power; they are part of much broader dynamics that touch upon the very foundations of governance, stability, and institutional legitimacy.
These electoral competitions are not simply confrontations between candidates, but are embedded in much deeper dynamics, where the issues of governance, stability, and institutional legitimacy are at the heart of concerns.
In this context, the question of the integrity of these electoral processes is of paramount importance. How can we ensure free, transparent, and credible elections? What role can citizens play in safeguarding democracy during these elections against the risks of manipulation, repression, or fraud?
In the face of these challenges, the question of the integrity of electoral processes and the role of citizens in preserving free and transparent elections is more relevant than ever. We discuss this issue with Professor David Dosseh, coordinator of Tournons La Page Togo and the Front Citoyen Togo-Debout.
