CITIZEN ACTION: the magazine of the AfricTivistes CitizenLabs | Issue 1
CitizenLabs are taking their commitment to the next level.
Driven by young people and rooted in a collective spirit, a new initiative has emerged: CitizenLabs from seven African countries (Mauritania, Benin, Cameroon, Guinea, Senegal, Chad and Madagascar) have joined forces to launch the very first issue of the magazine ‘ACTIONS CITOYENNES’.
Theme: “Digital technology for a more inclusive education”
In this inaugural issue, change-makers explore the potential of digital technology to transform education systems and reduce inequalities in access to knowledge. Pedagogical innovations, local initiatives, personal accounts and analyses: these diverse perspectives all uphold a shared conviction – that digital technology can become a powerful driver of educational inclusion, provided it is designed and rolled out in a way that is equitable and accessible to all.
This regional initiative embodies a shared ambition: to put citizens – and young people in particular – back at the heart of the continent’s civic transformations.
The COVER of this first issue already reflects this collective energy and this forward-looking vision.
‘Actions Citoyennes’ is designed and managed by AfricTivistes, and supported by the Digital Democracy Initiative as part of the ‘Digitalise Youth’ project, with the dual aim of promoting good governance and bridging the digital divide in Africa.
